The university had begun, and the first groups of friends were forming. One day, we decided to take a day trip to the sea with our bicycles. The weather was initially beautiful, but suddenly heavy rain set in. We waited patiently until the rain subsided, and the sun reappeared. With the warming rays of the sun on our faces, we continued our little journey.
The way to the sea was still long, approximately an hour according to Google Maps. During the ride through lush vegetation, accompanied by the scents of the sea, it felt as if we were suddenly on a tropical island, perhaps even Hawaii.
Upon reaching the beach, we first enjoyed the view from a sandy hill that resembled a dune. The sea was calm, and the horizon seemed endless. It was the first of October, but that didn’t stop us from taking a dip in the sea. The moment was simply fantastic. Not only was the view impressive, but also the friendships that formed that day. It was a perfect day and a successful start to the semester abroad.
After goofing around on the beach for a while, we decided to drive to the next suburb and grab something to eat. On the way back through the town, we saw a food truck on the side of the road. Although we had hardly seen any people in this place before, many had gathered here and were attentively listening to a band. The atmosphere was fantastic, a feeling of freedom permeated the air. A brief grin crossed my face as I savored this rare moment. The day at the sea turned into an unforgettable experience, embedded in the beginnings of our university friendships and the charm of an unexpected discovery at the end of our bike tour.
